ARNOLDS PARK, Iowa (July 22, 2016) – As an extension to his commitment to service and placing the needs, goals and desires of others first, Carstens Financial Group is proud to announce the return of the second-annual Carstens Financial Group Charity Pro-Am. This year’s Pro-Am, benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), will be held August 8 and 9, 2016, at Emerald Hills Golf Club in Arnolds Park. The Pro-Am will feature professional golfers from The Dakota Tour, a 19-event professional golf tour played in the Midwest states of Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming and North and South Dakota. Players will be paired with up to 80 amateurs during the Pro-Am. “Carstens Financial Group is committed to helping our clients, as well as residents in our surrounding communities, through any circumstances that come their way, both financially and personally,” said Kirt Carstens, president of Carstens Financial Group. “The Carstens Financial Group Charity Pro-Am is our chance to give back to veterans and active duty service members who do so much for us. Many of the soldiers’ circumstances have changed, and we owe them our help and gratitude.”
The benefactor of this year’s golf tournament, the WWP, was formed in 2003 to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members. The non-profit aims to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation’s history by raising awareness and aid for the needs of injured service members. Last year’s tournament raised more than $10,000 for the WWP. This year’s Pro-Am will include family-friendly festivities before and during the tournament, as well as the involvement of local veterans and service members. In order for this event to be a success, Carstens Financial Group is reaching out to individuals and businesses in the Iowa Great Lakes area for their support. “At Carstens Financial Group, we believe it’s important to provide support to local organizations that improve the lives of Iowa Great Lakes’ citizens, and the Wounded Warrior Project does just that,” said Carstens. “We’re excited to involve local veterans in the event and hope to have strong community involvement. You don’t have to play golf to be part of this great event. Any amount of support—including financial or attending any of the various events—makes a difference in helping aid these brave individuals.” There are varying sponsorship levels for the Carstens Financial Group Charity Pro-Am.
